Suzi Davidoff is a Texas artist based in the Chihuahuan desert of West Texas. Her work has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts, El Paso Museum of Art as well as many galleries such as Women and Their Work and Flatbed Press.

The New Mexico Geology series reflects the endangered plants of New Mexico, the Allium, Sancti Spiritus Pomopsis, Shooting Star Geranium and Sacramento Mountain Thistle.

When Davidoff came to the studio to work and collaborate, she and master printer, Tracy Mayrello, would go walk through a big open field near the studio and gather grasses, flowers and anything that caught her attention. Even some ball moss… Suzi would gather and bring it all back to the studio to draw.

Davidoff used a vintage geology map from the 1960’s to use as the Chine collé element in the series, and each copper plate etching has three different map sections as the Chine collé Her love of the environment is well represented here along with the history of the land of enchantment, New Mexico and its endangered plants.
