Tracy Mayrello

Tracy Mayrello’s artistic path was influenced by two art professors at the University of Texas. Vincent Mariani, a student of Josef Albers while at Yale, fueled her passion for color. While attending Lee Chesney’s classes, she fell in love with printmaking and viscosity printing. In 2003, Tracy joined Flatbed Press and Gallery, learning professional skills in printmaking, publishing and collaboration while working with Katherine Brimberry and Gerald Manson. In over 15 years at Flatbed Press and Gallery, Mayrello had the opportunity to work with noted artists including Julie Speed, Texas Medal of Arts Honoree James Surls, and the legendary Liliana Porter, a celebrated New York artist. As Master Printer, Mayrello has collaborated with artists from around the world and with each project comes the "dance" or story. South African artist Samson Mnisi arrived to work for two weeks - stayed for two months - and together artist and printmaker created ten over-sized monoprints. Mayrello has also collaborated with Austin's own Bob Schneider to create “Night Way" which won the prestigious PRIX de PRINT No. 32 from Art in Print magazine.

Raised in New York City to art-collecting parents, Cordelia’s love of fine art began at an early age. However, it was not until college at Wesleyan University, where she discovered her love for printmaking and works on paper. Under the tutelage of Kate Ten Eyck at Wesleyan, and then as an apprentice under Tracy Mayrello at Flatbed Press in Austin, Cordelia learned the beauty and process of printmaking. After becoming a Master Printer in 2017, she left Flatbed and has been pursuing a career in marketing while maintaining a printmaking practice on the side. Her work explores the imprints we make on our surroundings through the study of texture and fabric. Visit Cordelia’s website.
